DRAWING - 5 weeks, THURSDAYS, June 20th - July 18th, 5:30 - 8:15pm

Open to beginners and those with experience that would like to reconnect with their practice.

This course takes both a traditional and experimental approach to drawing. Exploration of diverse media and techniques will guide us.

It’s a process-oriented study working primarily from observation. We’ll begin with line, shape and value leading to more complex arrangements in order to build a strong composition.

Art House is well-stocked. We’ll be introduced to a wide range of media, such as charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, graphite, water-soluble pencils and ink in order to explore mark-making, the character of line and interaction of light and shadow.

Suggested Materials: 9x12 pad or larger mixed media sketchbook (Canson XL 98lb or heavier), set of pencils. Any other surfaces and drawing tools you’d like to work with are welcome.
